HARRISBURG — Live at Rose Lehrman presents a sold-out performance of the award-winning Vital Theatre Company’s production of “Angelina Ballerina - The Musical” at 11 a.m. and 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 28, at the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.
The sold out event will feature a celebration of books and literacy with events before and after each show. Pre- and post-show activities are included with ticket purchases.
Angelina and her friends, Alice, Gracie, AZ, Vici, and their teacher, Miss Mimi, will perform all types of dance, including hip-hop, modern dance, the Irish jig and of course, ballet, when they are excited to show off their skills to a famous visitor. Angelina hopes for her starring moment. Will it happen?
The show is based on the computer graphic-animated series, “Angelina Ballerina The Next Steps” on PBS “Kids®.” “Angelina Ballerina – The Musical” is a family-friendly show that will have the entire audience dancing in the aisles.
Pre-performance events for children will feature Floyd “SuperReader” Stokes, executive director of the American Literacy Corporation, who will present a performance in the Studio Theatre at 10 a.m. and 1 p.m.
For ticket holders, there will be a post-show book and cookie party in the Rose Lehrman lobby. Each child will receive one book courtesy of the American Literacy Corporation, while cookies will be provided. There will also be photo opportunities with ballerinas from Pennsylvania Regional Ballet.
