Earn bachelor’s degree close to home: HACC-Lancaster Campus partners with 4-year schools

Millersville University newest institution to deliver classes at the community college

LANCASTER – Area residents now can complete one of five programs leading to a bachelor’s degree at their home-town community college.
HACC-Lancaster Campus’ newest four-year partner is Millersville University, which will offer its accelerated bachelor’s degree program in early childhood education starting this fall.
“HACC and Millersville University have many excellent collaborations already in place. This new partnership adds to our work together and provides a great educational opportunity for those who want to be teachers,” said Dr. Jane S. Bray, associate provost and dean for Millersville’s School of Education.
Potential students can find out more about this program and four others offered by three additional four-year institutions during an information session at 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 15, in room 203 of the East Building at HACC-Lancaster Campus, 1641 Old Philadelphia Pike.
“HACC has partnered with the four-year institutions to deliver degree-completer programs in careers in high demand in the region,” Brad A. Wolf, executive dean of academic affairs at HACC-Lancaster Campus. “In addition to early childhood education, the programs include health care management, nursing, business administration, and crime and justice.”
Wolf continued, “Students who qualify to enroll in one of these programs will be able to take advantage of the opportunity for advanced learning while saving in travel costs in a local and familiar environment.”
Bachelor’s degree programs available this fall at the HACC-Lancaster Campus include:
  • Early childhood education offered by Millersville University
  • Health care management offered by Immaculata University
  • Nursing offered by Immaculata University
  • Business administration offered by Elizabethtown College
  • Crime and justice offered by Albright College
The classes are taught by faculty from the respective institution in an accelerated format during the evening. The program also includes access to services such as admissions, financial aid and registration by the respective institution at HACC. Advising, tutoring and library services also are available on the campus.
HACC associate degree graduates and other area residents who meet admission requirements of the individual institution are eligible to enroll in the programs. Students in the degree-completer programs pay the tuition rate of the respective institution.
