HACC Foundation receives $400,000 grant for engineering scholarships

HARRISBURG - The HACC Foundation received a grant for $400,000 in December from The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation to augment the Stabler Foundation’s Engineering Scholarship Fund. This permanently-endowed fund provides scholarships to outstanding first-year HACC students in engineering technology programs.
Established by Mr. and Mrs. Stabler in 1966, the Stabler Foundation provides grants exclusively for charitable, religious, scientific, literary or educational purposes. Generally, grants are only made to organizations and institutions that are located, or provide their primary services, in Central or Eastern Pennsylvania.
“The HACC Foundation is deeply grateful to The Donald B. and Dorothy L. Stabler Foundation for partnering with us to change destinies for promising men and women throughout Central Pennsylvania,” said Linnie S. Carter, Ph.D., APR, vice president of College advancement, HACC, and executive director, HACC Foundation. “This grant will allow us to support an increased number of students pursuing higher education in cutting-edge, engineering technology fields.”

HACC offers a wide variety of associate degrees, certificates and transfer programs in engineering technology. These programs include architectural, civil, electronic engineering, engineering and mechanical engineering technologies, and the new fields of geographic information systems and nanofabrication technology.

For more information about programs in engineering technology, contact Bill Forney, engineering department chairman, at 717-221-1300, extension 1402 or email wcforney@hacc.edu.
The HACC Foundation is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization established in 1985 to raise private and corporate revenues in support of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. The HACC Foundation consists of more than 280 funds and assets of more than $28 million.
