Annual job fair brings employers to HACC

Event set for March 27 at Harrisburg Campus

HARRISBURG – If you are in the job market and looking for a career change, or a student trying to arrange an internship, plan to attend the annual spring job and internship fair at the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

More than 50 employers from around the region will be at the fair from 10 a.m.-2 p.m. Wednesday, March 27, 2013, in the Bruce E. Cooper Student Center on the campus. Some of those employers include Aflac Capital Region, Frito Lay, Hershey Entertainment & Resorts, Maxim Healthcare, Mid Penn Bank, Pennsylvania State Police, Primerica Financial and Verizon. Admission to the fair for students, alumni and the community is free.

Employers who are interested in joining the annual event can contact the Harrisburg Campus to reserve a table.

“Networking and identifying leads can be great ways to land a job, and a job fair gives you the best of both worlds, as you can develop professional contacts and possibly have an interview on the spot,” said Howard Alexander, career advisor.

Participants should dress professionally and bring multiple copies of their resume. Many of the companies at the fair are looking to fill full- and part-time positions in a variety of jobs, with roles for both entry-level and experienced workers.

Alexander added, “Internships also are a key to future success and, therefore, also a crucial aspect of the job fair.”

For more information, contact Howard Alexander III, career advisor, 717-780-3265 or email halexand@hacc.edu. A list of employers participating in the job fair can be found at www.hacc.edu , click on Harrisburg Campus.
