Among the graduates were:
- Lisa Newcomer of Mechanicsburg overcame many obstacles including family deaths, homelessness and abuse to achieve her dream of earning an associate degree in social services. Newcomer gave a daughter up for adoption seven years ago and met her for the first time at Commencement.
- Santos Robles of Lebanon received his associate’s degree in psychology. Robles made HACC Commencement ceremony history when he proposed to his girlfriend in front of hundreds of people during the ceremony.
- Photos of graduates from each of the campuses are available.
HACC also honored Cesare “Che” Puglisi of Marietta with a posthumous degree. Puglisi, who passed away in a car accident in January 2015, was a student in HACC’s Diagnostic Medical Sonography program. His sister, Maria Puglisi, accepted the degree on behalf of her brother.
