New Exhibit Features Local Artist’s Work at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus

‘Spring in Bloom’ by Wendy Spicer-Heiges runs to May 20, 2016

GETTYSBURG, Pa. – “Spring in Bloom,” a new collection of mixed media, hand-painted mirrors and handcrafted jewelry by Gettysburg artist Wendy Spicer-Heiges, will be on display April 4-May 20, 2016, in the Art Gallery Hallway at the Gettysburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

Spicer-Heiges’ work will be available for sale during a reception for the artist on April 21 from 5-7 p.m. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the student emergency assistance fund at HACC’s Gettysburg Campus. This fund assists students who are facing financial emergencies and unexpected financial burdens.

The reception and the exhibit are open to the public.

Spicer-Heiges, an independent artist and designer, is an award-winning artist who has shown her work locally and nationally since 1996. She is the program coordinator and gallery director of the Adams County Arts Council.

Her background in interior design can be seen in some of her architecturally inspired pieces. Her mirrors, frames and jewelry are made of a variety of natural, handmade papers, silk, linen, acrylic paint and genuine, quality stones and metals.

HACC’s Gettysburg Campus is located on 731 Old Harrisburg Road. For more information, please contact Vanessa Larson at 717-339-3509.
