ODC/Dance Comes to Live at Rose Lehrman

HARRISBURG, Pa. – ODC/Dance will bring its athletic, passionate performances of “Dead Reckoning” and “Triangulating Euclid” to the stage at Live at Rose Lehrman on Jan. 25, 2017, at 7:30 p.m. in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center on the Harrisburg Campus of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College.

“Dead Reckoning,” a contemporary performance portraying humanity in the throes of upheaval and its impact on the surrounding world, is choreographed by KT Nelson, co-artistic director. It was inspired by her sabbatical in Death Valley and features original music from Kronos Quartet cellist Joan Jeanrenaud.

“Triangulating Euclid,” a performance inspired by the original edition of “Euclid’s Elements,” an influential work in the history of mathematics, was developed by Brenda Way, KT Nelson and Kate Weare. This highly physical, insightful and emotive work moves from the formal elegance of geometry to its human implications.

The public is invited to attend a pre-performance talk with the artistic directors at 6:30 p.m. in the Studio Theatre in the Rose Lehrman Arts Center.

ODC/Dance has been named the “Best Dance Company” in the San Francisco Bay Guardian’s “Best of the Bay” for many years. The group has performed for more than a million people in 32 states and 11 countries with standing room only performances in Europe, Russia and Asia.

Show sponsors include the HACC Foundation, HACC’s Student Government Association and The Rose Lehrman Arts Fund of The Foundation For Enhancing Communities. ODC/Dance is sponsored by The ODC Artistic Venture and Touring Initiative.
