More than 560 of the 1,192 students eligible to graduate in spring and summer 2023 walked across the stage at the Giant Center to receive their associate degrees, certificates and diplomas.

Visit HACC’s Culinary Students, Chefs at the Pennsylvania Farm Show

WHO: Students and chef instructors from the Culinary Arts Program at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College
WHAT: Participation in the PA Preferred Culinary Connection
 
WHEN: Now through Jan. 14, 2017
WHERE: Main Hall, Pennsylvania Farm Show, 2300 N. Cameron St., Harrisburg
COVERAGE: HACC students and chef instructors will be featured on stage with these presentations: 
  • Jan. 10 at noon: Chef Tom Long, director of Campus Dining at The Chef’s Apprentice, will demonstrate crab manicotti. 
  • Jan. 10 at 5 p.m.: Chef Instructor Autumn Patti and HACC students will demonstrate sweet potato cobbler with candied pecans and Hall’s raspberry honey ice cream. 
  • Jan. 13 at 4 p.m.: Chef Instructor David Mills and HACC students will demonstrate sugar cured pork belly and pickled Asian slaw on brioche with a Sriracha honey aioli. 
  • Jan. 13 at 5 p.m.: HACC Culinary Arts students will participate in a mystery box challenge. This is a competition with two pairs of second-year students working with mystery ingredients in an exciting and intense competition!  
  • Jan. 14 at 4 p.m.: Chef Instructor Chad Brumbaugh and HACC students will demonstrate Keswick Creamery’s Big Hill Cider Wash Tomme with roasted beets and apple fennel salad.

Throughout the Farm Show, HACC Culinary Arts students will set up stage demonstrations each day, assist the chefs during the demonstrations and prepare 250 samples of each dish. This annual opportunity shows the skill and dedication of our students and instructors.
