HARRISBURG, Pa. – The community is invited to join in HACC’s Day of Giving on April 20, 2017. The 24-hour event will provide many opportunities to give back through various activities at all campuses and online.HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is a source of pride for thousands of students, alumni, employees, donors, organizations, partners and friends. The Day of Giving is an annual event created to celebrate that pride as well as give back so that others may experience their first steps on a personal and professional journey to success.
The funds raised from the Day of Giving will support the College’s “Invest. Impact. Inspire. Campaign for HACC.” fundraising priorities: (1) Cooper Student Center renovations, (2) emergency assistance funds, (3) President’s Fund for Excellence and (4) scholarships.
A HACC student expressed gratitude for receiving HACC emergency assistance funding:
“Without this help, it would have been very difficult to have these items on time for my class. These types of programs are a great and needed emergency resource for students who might be in a difficult financial position. Lack of funds should not be an obstacle to obtaining an excellent education and thanks to programs like this, obstacles are eliminated!”
