HACC Plans Activities in Recognition of Martin Luther King Jr. Day

HARRISBURG, Pa. -

HACC’s Harrisburg Campus
 
Jan. 23, 10 a.m.Bruce E. Cooper Student Center
The Harrisburg Campus community will honor Dr. King’s legacy with a Day of Service project to assemble 500 lunches to be distributed to Bethesda Mission.

HACC’s Gettysburg Campus
 
Members of the community are invited to join the Gettysburg Campus Circle K, the collegiate version of Kiwanis, and campus students and employees for these activities:
 
Jan. 24, 10 a.m.-1 p.m., Bookstore Café
Project Linus – Circle K and the St. Luke’s Blanketeers of Carroll County, Maryland, will make handmade blankets that benefit children with cancer. The project is part of the Carroll County Project Linus, which donates the blankets to hospitals, abuse centers, schools and disaster relief agencies.
 
Jan. 25, 10 a.m., Adams County Public Library
Bagged lunches – Circle K is sponsoring this project that will assemble meals for the Gettysburg Soup Kitchen. The prepared packaged meals will be distributed the same day as an additional meal for patrons.
 
Jan. 25, 7:30 p.m., Gettysburg College’s Majestic Theater
“We Shall Overcome” – Circle K members will volunteer as ushers for this event. Proceeds benefit the Adams County Career Aid Project that assists low-income youth and adults with post education costs. This event is the 40th anniversary of Gettysburg’s Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. celebration.
