“We are saddened to temporarily suspend our athletic programs, but we believe it is the right decision to protect the health and safety of HACC students and employees,” said John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D., MBA, HACC’s president and CEO. “This decision was made based on careful consideration of the current situation and risks posed by COVID-19. HACC’s campuses will be closed until at least Dec. 31, 2020, and under those circumstances, we are unable to provide space for athletic programs to practice and host games.”
This suspension will impact the following sports offered at HACC:
- Golf
- Men’s and women’s basketball
- Men’s and women’s cross country
- Men’s and women’s soccer
- Women’s volleyball
Students and employees were notified of the decision on July 9, 2020.
