HACC Professor Completes Interactive, Low-Cost Textbook

HARRISBURG, Pa. – A new low-cost iBook®, “A-Plus Anatomy: The Dynamic Body,” by Rob Swatski, professor of biology at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, was released Sept. 11, 2020.

Swatski was motivated to create the iBook to help students succeed in introductory anatomy and physiology courses.

The newest addition to the popular “A-Plus Anatomy” series is interactive and media-rich, including features such as:
  • Assessments that allow test takers to get instant feedback
  • Audio recordings
  • High-quality images and photomicrographs
  • Interactive, indexed glossary with over 1,000 terms
  • Original illustrations drawn by Swatski
  • Video clips

As part of its One College, Uniting for Success strategic plan, HACC is committed to ensuring students have access to low- or no-cost textbooks.

Swatski is the author of three additional iBooks – “A-Plus Anatomy: The Life of a Cell,” “The Histology Comic Book” and “Mobile Learning Projects in the iOS Classroom.” He was named an Apple Distinguished Educator in 2017. Swatski can be followed on Twitter at @ProfSwatski.
