HACC Announces Adult Degree Completion Program
In the fall 2021 semester, the average age of a part-time student at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, was 25.4 years old. To address the needs of its adult student population, the College developed the adult degree completion program to assist students in reaching their dreams.

Second place team - High School Math Contest 2012
The team from Hempfield High School placed second in HACC’s 22nd annual mathematics contest held recently through an interactive video link at the college’s Harrisburg, Lancaster and York campuses. From left at the Lancaster Campus are sophomore Adam Karl, junior John Grosh and senior Bryan Yoder, who also placed fifth in the individual overall score. This year 21 area high schools competed.

Camp Hill sophomore Patrick Yang was among the top 10 highest scoring students in HACC’s 22nd annual mathematics contest held recently through an interactive video link at the college’s Harrisburg, Lancaster and York campuses. Yang had the fourth highest overall individual score. This year 21 area high schools competed.

From Manheim Township High School, junior Saarang Deshpande had the eighth highest individual overall score in HACC’s 22nd annual mathematics contest held recently through an interactive video link at the college’s Harrisburg, Lancaster and York campuses. 21 high schools competed.

The team from Mechanicsburg Area Senior High School placed first in HACC’s 22nd annual mathematics contest held recently through an interactive video link at the college’s Harrisburg, Lancaster and York campuses. From left at the Harrisburg Campus are junior Charles Hansen; Daniel Fahringer, HACC associate professor of computer science and mathematics; junior Corey Smithmyer; team adviser Katharine Kennedy; and sophomore Chris Spicer. Smithmyer placed third in the individual overall score, Spicer placed sixth and Hansen placed seventh. This year 21 area high schools competed.

Fall commencement 2011 - first HACC commencement for HACC President John J. “Ski” Sygielski
HACC President John J. “Ski” Sygielski, left, led the college’s 47th annual fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Pennsylvania State Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. The commencement was the first for Ski, who joined HACC in July as the college’s seventh president. With him on the dais are James Grandon, left, chair of the HACC Foundation Board of Trustees, and Elaine Moore ’01 of Lebanon, who was commencement speaker.

Fall commencement 2011 - Harrisburg and York campuses
Shalanda Ross of Harrisburg, left, gets a little help on placing her mortar board from Theresa Shoffner of Highspire before HACC’s 47th annual fall commencement Saturday, Dec. 17, at the Pennsylvania Farm Show Complex in Harrisburg. Shoffner, who attended classes at HACC-York Campus, earned an associate of arts degree. Ross, who attended classes at HACC-Harrisburg Campus, earned a diploma. Students from the five regional campuses and the Virtual Campus participated in the event.

John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D., inducted as HACC's seventh president
John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D., center, was inducted as HACC’s seventh president during an inauguration ceremony held in the Cooper Student Center on the HACC-Harrisburg Campus. Presenting the college’s new president are, at left, Thomas B. Richey, vice chairman, HACC board of trustees, and right, Timothy L. Sandoe, chairman, HACC board of trustees.
The ceremony was broadcast to HACC’s regional campuses in Gettysburg, Lancaster, Lebanon and York.
