Sygielski announced a transformational gift of $1,295,305.30 from the estate of Mrs. Gloria W. Paxton to empower the HACC Foundation to establish the John E. Paxton and Gloria W. Paxton Fund for Excellence in STEAM. (more)
The community is invited to join in the Day of Giving on April 11 at HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College. The 24-hour event will provide many opportunities to give back through various activities at all campuses and online. More than $182,000 was raised during last year’s Day of Giving. (more)
While I am grateful for Gov. Tom Wolf’s proposed $8 million funding for a community college tuition assistance program as part of his Statewide Workforce, Education and Accountability Program, I am disappointed that his proposed $34.1 billion budget for fiscal 2019-20 does not include an increase in the community college operating or capital line item appropriations.
