HACC has scheduled two separate sections of the 60-hour solar PV electric systems training course, both will be held in Room 108 on the first floor of Campus Square, 1426 N. Third St. in Midtown Harrisburg.
Students can choose to attend classes in the morning with Section 70730, which meets from 7-11 a.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 4-Nov. 15. Or, students can choose to attend classes in the evening with Section 70731, which meets from 6-9 p.m. Tuesdays and Thursdays, Oct. 4-Dec. 8.
Students will learn about solar PV markets and applications, safety and electrical basics, solar energy and PV module fundamentals and system components, PV sizing principles, PV system electrical and mechanical design, and performance analysis, maintenance and troubleshooting. The course costs $1,200 per student and includes books, classroom theory, hands-on application and the NABCEP Entry-Level Test.
The third course, a 40-hour entry level solar PV electric systems training, is an intensive one-week course that meets from 8 a.m.-5 p.m. Monday-Friday, Oct. 24-28, at Energy Systems and Installation, 451 Jonestown Road, Jonestown. The $825 cost of the course includes text, materials and the testing fee. The NABCEP test will be offered 6-9 p.m. Friday, Oct. 28. The fee for the test only is $110.
