Statement Regarding College Credit FastTrack

By John J. “Ski” Sygielski, Ed.D.
President of HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College

College Credit FastTrack will assist any future or current HACC student with prior life or college experience that can be applied toward a degree or certificate program.

HACC already allows credit for prior work or life experience using the Prior Learning Assessment (PLA) process. The College Credit FastTrack online resource will allow students to explore programs at HACC to find out how their prior experience can apply toward multiple degrees, rather than the process of selecting just one degree to explore. College Credit FastTrack will make the process easier for the student.

For nontraditional students with other training and experience, switching careers will become a smoother process. For active-duty military and veteran students, it will become easier to transfer their military training into a civilian career through education at HACC. Students who have experience in health care fields, trades and technology, and education will work with faculty on how to best document their experience in a portfolio for college credit.
