HACC and Krise Get Students on the Road to a Career

HARRISBURG, Pa. – HACC, Central Pennsylvania’s Community College, is partnering with Krise Transportation to provide commercial driver’s license (CDL) Class B training for Krise employees.

The training can be completed at no cost, provided individuals meet certain criteria such as conditional employment with Krise and enrollment in HACC’s virtual CDL theory course. Krise employees who enroll may also be paid while completing their training.

HACC’s CDL theory and behind-the-wheel courses prepare students for their CDL test and entry into commercial driving.

Class B drivers can drive dump trucks, cement mixers, school buses or motor coaches. According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, bus drivers earned a median annual pay of $45,900 in 2020.

Theory classes will be taught virtually, and behind-the-wheel training will take place at the Senator John J. Shumaker Public Safety Center on HACC’s Harrisburg Campus. Classes begin June 21, 2021.

Interested Krise employees are invited to learn more about the training by attending one of our free virtual information sessions on June 7 or 14 at 12:30 p.m. To sign up for an information session, please email workforce@hacc.edu.
